Group Travel
On this group trip for singles, you will visit the world-famous capital Havana and go on a city tour followed by a ride in a vintage car. Activities such as a visit to a tobacco and rum factory are included, but you are free to book additional activities such as a cocktail workshop. After the lively life in Havana, our singles trip takes you and your travel group to a quieter area, the Viñales Valley. Here you will learn more about the process of tobacco production, the mogotes and life in the countryside. At further stops along the way, you will discover the idyllic and authentic small towns of Cienfuegos and Trinidad as well as the social-ecological project Las Terrazas. At the end of the singles trip, you and your group can relax for a few days on the beautiful white beaches of Varadero and enjoy the turquoise sea.
Day 1: Your single group trip begins in Havana, the capital of the Caribbean island. You will be picked up from the airport in Havana by a private minibus and taken to one of the most beautiful Casas Particulares in the city.
Day 2: After a hearty breakfast, you will meet your tour guide and your tour group. The tour guide will accompany you throughout the tour. During a private city tour, you will learn more about the beautiful architecture of the capital and have the opportunity to get to know your fellow travelers a little better. After a delicious Cuban lunch, you will drive through the outskirts of the city in a vintage car like a real Cuban. Our recommendation for the evening: Toast your first day in Cuba with your fellow travelers on one of the many roof terraces. It’s best to do this with your favorite cocktail in hand!
Day 3: Today you have the day at your leisure.
Day 4: The next day you will visit the famous rum museum in Havana. On a guided tour you will learn all about the different processes during production and the criteria for recognizing good rum quality. You will then visit one of the most famous tobacco and rum factories in Havana. You will then end the day with an incredible show similar to a cabaret in the evening.
Day 5: Today you will go to the famous tobacco valley of Viñales, far in the west of the country. Here you will go on a hike through the various highlights of the area. Discover impressive cave systems, rock formations, tobacco fields and ancient paintings. At lunch you will enjoy an excellent meal with regional products in the middle of the beautiful landscape of the Viñales Valley. After this refreshment you will visit an experienced tobacco farmer who will explain the traditional processes of cigar production to you.
Day 6: Today you will travel to Cayo Jutía and spend a day at the beach. Relax under the palm trees, enjoy the sun, the sea and refreshing cocktails on one of Cuba’s pristine beaches! Lunch is included.
Today you and your travel group will visit the social-ecological project “Las Terrazas”. You will walk through the streets of the village, get to know the community and the background of the project and visit the local coffee plantation. After a hearty lunch you will drive to the river and can refresh yourself in the water.
You will spend today admiring the magnificent buildings of Cienfuegos and exploring the city’s picturesque promenades. A special highlight is the Palacio del Valle, a palace built in the Moorish style from the time of the sugar barons. It is best to visit it in the late afternoon, because from here you can enjoy the most beautiful sunset in the city! For the evening, we recommend strolling through the streets and enjoying fresh fruit juices or Cuban cocktails at the countless bars on the main street. Let yourself be captivated by Cuba with live music and enjoy the evening with your new friends.
Day 9: Today your small group tour explores the colonial stone streets and colorful buildings in Trinidad. You will visit the legendary Canchanchara Bar, the Palacio Cantero and the Valle de los Ingenios. This region has been a World Heritage Site since 1988 and, in addition to a beautiful landscape, has 75 individual historical sites such as sugar mills, colonial houses and slave quarters. In between, a delicious lunch awaits you in one of the best restaurants in the city.
Day 10: After a hearty breakfast in the Casa Particular, you start the day with a salsa dance lesson. Swing your hips and let yourself be carried away by the Cuban rhythms. The afternoon is free.
Day 11-14: Today you and your group will travel from Trinidad to Varadero. On the way you will stop in Santa Clara. The real goal, however, is the fine white beaches and an all-inclusive hotel in the Caribbean paradise.
You will spend the last days of your single trip to Cuba in this dreamlike place. Relax with your new acquaintances on the hotel beach or pool or go snorkeling. Your all-inclusive hotel offers a wide range of activities, so you will definitely not get bored!
Today your single trip through Cuba ends. We will pick you and your travel group up at your hotel in Varadero to take you back to the airport in Havana. You will begin your journey home full of new impressions, new friendships and wonderful memories. We wish you a good flight. Maybe we will see each other again soon?
Of course, depending on how you travel through Cuba, you’ll need different equipment. If you’re taking a sailing tour along the cays, you’ll probably need less mosquito repellent than the birdwatchers in the swamp of Cienega de Zapata National Park.

In our opinion, the blog of viel-unterwegs.de offers a very good packing list
The Cuban currency is called Peso Cubano or CUP. Until January 2021, in addition to the CUP, there was also the Peso Convertible (CUC), which was only for tourists.
The safest way to exchange money is in the hotel, in the Casa, in official exchange offices or banks, although you should expect long queues at the latter. It is best to take cash in euros with you and exchange it for Cuban pesos directly at the airport.
We are often asked for useful souvenirs for the people of Cuba.
Body care products, deodorant, soap, perfume, etc. are welcome gifts because they are either very expensive locally or the quality leaves much to be desired. Writing utensils, balloons (for the children) and sweets are also welcome.
However, we recommend that you do not hand out such small gifts indiscriminately on the street, but give them away on suitable occasions (to hosts, particularly friendly or helpful people). As long as you do not overdo it with the quantities, customs will not be interested in them when you enter the country. Alternatively, you can support a local social project and, for example, take on a sponsorship with Kuba Hilfe in order to ensure that disadvantaged children receive a good education. You can find more information here: http://www.kuba-hilfe.de/
The easiest way to fly from the USA to Cuba is via direct flights to Havana (HAV) from major cities like Miami, Fort Lauderdale, New York, Houston, and Los Angeles.
The hygienic conditions for processing and preparing food in Cuba are generally good, which means that the risk of catching dangerous diseases through food is low. Salads and freshly prepared cold dishes are also generally hygienic. Unlike in other Central American countries, you can buy and consume open lemonade or soft ice cream on the side of the road without worrying about infection. But here too, anyone who knows that they are sensitive to unfamiliar food should be careful. Even on our group trips, diarrhea occasionally occurs, as can be the case in any southern country. It is better to be cautious than to have a “ruined” vacation. Everyone knows themselves and their body best and knows what they can put it through.
Since there is no guarantee that the ATMs will work, you should always carry enough cash with you. The availability of ATMs also leaves a lot to be desired. ATMs are mainly found in Havana and Santiago, and occasionally in smaller towns. As with credit card payments, a 10 percent tax is charged for using the ATM. It is best to withdraw cash from bank ATMs as rarely as possible to avoid unnecessary costs abroad. In isolated cases, unfortunately, a credit card can be held in the ATM during the transaction. You should not despair in this case. If you have problems with your credit card, you can contact the service agency Centro de Tarjetas Fincimex SA in the Hotel Habana Libre (Tel.: 0053 7 554466).
