Privacy Policy Travel Buddies GmbH

We are pleased that you are interested in our website. The protection of your privacy and data is very important to us. Below we provide you with detailed information about how we handle your data.

In this privacy policy we inform you about how CUBA BUDDY handles personal data. In order to provide CUBA BUDDY and its various functions, it is necessary for us to process some personal data. Even if you order products, the data required for the purchase and shipping of the goods is processed and passed on to the service providers commissioned by us to the extent necessary for order processing. In addition, address and order data are collected and processed for our own marketing purposes. For third-party marketing purposes, only data that is permitted by law (generally published data or certain data summarized in lists) is
passed on. In general, we naturally observe all applicable legal regulations in all data processing operations. You can object to the use, processing and transmission of your personal data for marketing purposes at any time by sending an informal message by post to Travel Buddies GmbH, Oranienstr. 183, 10999 Berlin or by sending an email to hallo@cuba-buddy.de.

Data processing when using our services

As a tour operator, CUBA BUDDY organizes individually designed trips. In this context, we process personal data to fulfill the contract and in particular to process your trip, to book the services, for the optional booking of insurance, to prepare the contractual travel documents and possible warranty cases. For these purposes, we primarily process your first and last name, your gender, your date of birth, your e-mail address, telephone/mobile number, your address, your ID card information such as passport number, validity, nationality and, if applicable, the details of your emergency contact person and your credit card details.
For the purpose of contract processing or billing, your personal data will only be passed on or otherwise transmitted to third parties if this is necessary for contract processing or billing or if you have previously consented. As part of the processing of your order, service providers used by us (e.g. partners) receive the necessary data for order processing.

Storage of access data in log data

Every time you access the CUBA BUDDY website, usage data is transmitted by the respective Internet browser and saved in log files. The data records saved contain the following data: date and time of access, name of the page accessed, IP address, referrer URL (origin URL from which you came to the website), the amount of data transferred, loading time, and product and version information of the browser used. Users’ IP addresses are deleted after use has ended. We evaluate these log file records in an anonymous form in order to further improve our offering and make it more user-friendly, to find and correct errors more quickly, and to control server capacities.

Data collection and use for contract processing

We collect personal data when you share it with us when you contact us (e.g. via contact form, telephone or email). We use the data you provide to process the contract and handle your enquiries. After the contract has been fully processed, your data will be blocked for further use and deleted after the tax and commercial retention periods have expired, unless you have expressly consented to further use of your data or we reserve the right to use the data in any other way that is permitted by law and about which we will inform you below.

Data transfer for contract fulfilment

In order to fulfil the contract, we will pass on your data to the partner companies associated with the travel arrangements, insofar as this is necessary to deliver the services requested.

Use of data in the context of newsletters

After purchasing goods in our online shop, your email address will be used to send email advertising. You can revoke your consent for this at any time and without further costs with effect for the future by clicking on the ‘unsubscribe from newsletter’ link in the newsletter and then following the instructions. Alternatively, you can write us an email to hallo@cuba-buddy.de to unsubscribe from the newsletter.

Note on the possibility of objection

You can object to the use, processing and transmission of your personal data for marketing purposes at any time by sending an informal message to hallo@cuba-buddy.de or by post to Travel Buddies GmbH, Oranienstr. 183, 10999 Berlin. However, this does not apply to the data required to process your order. After receiving your objection, we will no longer use, process or transmit the data in question for purposes other than processing your order and will stop sending you any further advertising material.

Use of Google Analytics as an analysis tool
This website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service provided by Google Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses so-called “cookies”, text files that are stored on your computer and that enable an analysis of your use of the website. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is usually transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there. However, if IP anonymization is activated on this website, Google will shorten your IP address beforehand within member states of the European Union or in other contracting states to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there.
On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activity and to provide the website operator with other services relating to website activity and Internet usage. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be merged with other Google data. You can prevent cookies from being saved by setting your browser software accordingly; however, we would like to point out that in this case you may not be able to use all of the functions of this website to their full extent. This happens regardless of whether Google provides a user account through which you are logged in or whether no user account exists. If you are logged in to Google, your data will be assigned directly to your account. If you do not want to be assigned to your Google profile, you must log out beforehand. Google stores your data as usage profiles and uses them for the purposes of advertising, market research and/or needs-based design of the website. Such an evaluation is carried out in particular (even for users who are not logged in) to provide needs-based advertising and to inform other users about your activities on our website.

We use Google Maps to show you interactive maps from Google Maps and thus give you a better user experience on our website. This is also our legitimate interest in the processing of the above data by the third-party provider. The legal basis is Art. 6 Para. 1 Clause 1 Letter f) of GDPR.

Using a pixel from Emetriq

emetriq is a provider of targeting services in the area of online marketing of advertising space. Targeting means addressing a precise target group in online marketing. For this purpose, emetriq operates a data pool whose aim is to significantly increase the quality of targeting so that advertisers can show you relevant advertising based on your interests.

Purpose of the data

For the provision of emetriq’s services. The data can be used by emetriq to recognize you via a cookie and to show you advertising and content based on your likely characteristics and interests. emetriq uses the data to create target group segments using statistical projections, which emetriq’s partners can use to personalize and improve their websites, applications and advertising messages.

The following data is used:

Cookie ID, technical parameters of your browser, for example browser ID, operating system, screen resolution, device classes, device manufacturer, surfing behavior on partner sites, in the form of URL and referrer URL, for example which news category and which news you have viewed, if applicable customer data (advertising clicks, customer status, channel of entry into the shop, etc.)

In addition, emetriq does not collect any personal data such as names, addresses, dates of birth, etc.
Emetriq deletes the data after 13 months at the latest.

How does emetriq collect data?

emetriq records raw data from various partners and their websites. The raw data is recorded using an emetriq script, which is integrated into all partner data sources according to emetriq’s specifications. Alternatively, a measurement pixel can also be used. Measurement pixels are usually images that are only 1×1 pixels in size and are transparent or created in the color of the background so that they are not visible. If a website containing a measurement pixel is opened, this small image is loaded from the provider’s server on the Internet, and the download is registered there. This allows the provider of the process to see when and how many users requested this measurement pixel or a website was visited. The provider can also determine whether JavaScript is activated in the browser or not. If JavaScript is activated, further information such as browser information, operating system, screen resolution can be recorded. The raw data collected is pseudonymized in the user’s browser and only then transferred to the data pool. For this purpose, the IP address, which is technically mandatory for the fraction of a second during data recording, is immediately discarded and not stored by emetriq in connection with the collected user data. All information collected about a user is stored exclusively using an automatically and randomly generated cookie ID. A cookie is a text file on a device (e.g. computer) and is always assigned to a browser. If a user uses two or more browsers on their device, a corresponding number of cookies are generated on the device. The cookie ID is an automatically and randomly generated ID that is assigned once and thus assigns a unique identity to a browser. This ID consists of a numerical character string and does not contain any personal data. All information collected about a user is stored exclusively with this pseudonymous cookie ID. Due to the process described here, depseudonymization of the recorded raw data is technically impossible.

What can I do if I do not want my behavior to be analyzed by emetriq GmbH?

Opt-Out
You have the option to deactivate the data collection and processing by emetriq here at any time. This will result in your emetriq cookie being replaced by a neutral opt-out cookie. This ensures that emetriq does not use your data any further.

With retargeting, the advertising is displayed on the basis of a cookie-based analysis of previous user behavior. Of course, no personal data is stored here and, just as naturally, the retargeting technology is used in compliance with the applicable statutory data protection regulations. If you do not agree to the display of this form of advertising, you can deactivate cookies and/or delete existing cookies via the settings of your Internet browser. To do this, please follow the instructions described above under section 9.
